don’t mind all the towel lines on my back 😉 #beachproblems
Did someone say fun in the sun? Y’all, I’m not on vacation, this beautiful beach is where I call home! Growing up here, all I knew was the beach and it never really occurred to me just how lucky I was. That people vacationed where I lived. That my weekends and early days out of school were spent where people day dreamed about. It wasn’t until going away to college (The University of Alabama, can I get a roll tide?!) did I truly realize and appreciate my hometown. So many of my sisters spent their summers and had beach houses in Pensacola or in Destin/Seaside (which like an hour away). Why had I spent so many years ready to go away to school to get away from this beautiful place? Why, because I was crazy and clearly delusional in my pre-college haze.
I take full advantage of having the beach in my back pocket and as soon as the weather hits 70 degrees I’m hitting the sand. I keep getting comments from people on my Instagram about how tan I am when it’s just not summer…it’s because it’s been perfect beach weather (the water has been pretty chilly but it hasn’t been too cold to enjoy it, it’s the perfect not too hot temps.) here for a few months.
Typically beach shoots would never be a thing I’m into, no judgement for those of you who can rock the hell out of them but I’m already awkward enough in front of the camera, take half my clothes and how I turn into the most awko-turtle ever but a beach cover up shoot is totally different, it’s a super sheer dress (doesn’t make it sound too much better but in my mind it’s clothes).
p.s. yes I wore sunscreen. ALWAYS. I don’t know if any of y’all have used SunBum but I recently switched from Hawaiian Tropic but both are great. A word of warning though, it’s not super waterproof so if you plan on doing more than land activities I’d use Banana Boat Sport…the holy grail of waterproof sunscreen! I also use chapstick that has sunscreen in it, I love this and this one!
If any of y’all are headed to Pensacola, Destin or the Seaside area please email me, I have tons of recs!!
