Here’s the thing about me, I have a true love-hate relationship with getting dressed in the morning. As much as I love clothes, accessories and the sheer awesomeness that surrounds wearing the perfect outfit. The truth is I hate the process (most of the time) of actually getting ready. I dress according to my mood when I wake up so the whole idea of picking out outfits the night before doesn’t work for me because 99% of the time I’m going to wake up and totally hate the outfit or not feel like wearing whatever it is. It never fails.
Hair and makeup are two areas that are kind of uncharted territory. I love not looking like a straight hot mess and tired so makeup is a must but honestly, the less I have to put on and the less it looks like makeup the more I love it. I feel like my face wasn’t meant to hold wearing bold makeup, I’m much more of minimalist and tend stick to the natural palettes. I love the warmer months because my skin has a natural glow from the sun that I literally only ever wear mascara. Don’t get me wrong, I spend hours watching Youtube videos and watching my sister apply crazy, out there, super bold looks and I envy those of you who posses the skill and have the face to pull it off but this chicka just isn’t one of them. With that big said, I hate that if you don’t wear a lot makeup you’re said not fully put together when you leave the house; same goes for hair. I wish more than anything I had a glam squad that could do my hair every morning but truthfully even if I did I would have them style my hair to look effortless and probably loose waves everyday. I’m not lazy ( at least not everyday) I just feel like my style/look is more of a laid back, effortless vibe….if that makes sense.
Effortless doesn’t have to mean “doesn’t care” it just means that not everything has to be so. in. it’s. place.
I love the easiness of this look, everything is pretty much oversized but yet still embodies a sense of togetherness and polished. I want girls to feel like they can be more comfortable in not always being so polished. It’s the little details that make the outfit….that and being fully confident that you’re totally killing it when you walk out the door. Adding these dainty heels and moto jacket, to me are what make this oversized look work.
