Nautical

Nothing makes me happier than being on or near the water epically since I was born and raised having the Gulf of Mexico in my backyard so the first time the weather gets over 60 degrees I’m ready to be at the beach.  These past couple of weeks Mother Nature has been gracious enough to bless us here on the Gulf Coast with perfect spring weather.  I’ve taken every chance I’ve gotten to get outside and soak up some rays and try to give my pale skin some much needed vitamin D. Don’t worry I’m not one of those girls that like freaks out and goes all tanorexic and gets like wayyyy too dark/orange.  I  like to have a nice little tan or at least a little color on me when I’m baring my legs for all the world to see.  Bright colors really pop when you have a little tan, a least that’s what I like to tell myself when I’m laying on the beach working on my tan instead of being a productive young adult.

Call me cliche but I absolutely love the whole nautical look for spring/summer! Nautical just screams classic prep, it’s just so chic ugh I love it! Being from the south I have to deal with a little something called humidity a.k.a a girls hair’s worst nightmare.  When the weather warms up & the humidity comes out to play your outfit should be minimal and simple.  Theres nothing worse than being hot + sticky with sweat and being stuck in too many clothes or tangled in a million accessories.  Let’s get nauti & enjoy this warm weather!

Of course I had to shoot a nautical outfit at a marina, duh! But seriously how cute is this?

My entire outfit besides my handbag + hat was recycled from last year. Gasp I know, I’m wearing last year styles.  These tweed shorts from forever21 last year had to make a come back, they’re so cute I couldn’t let them go after just one season. I’ve linked a similar pair also from forever21.

My top is one that I’ve literally had for like 3 years, I cut the tag out of it (as I do most of my tops because they irritate me) was if I can recall was from BCBG.

My necklace is also a repeat from forever21 last year. Yes I shop at forever21, no they’re not the most quality conscious brand but they are super affordable and you can find some super cute pieces!

My wedges were only worn one time before this shoot which happened to be to my college graduation last spring! They’re Vince Camuto and are some of the most comfortable wedges I’ve ever owned.  I’m not sure if the color is still available but I’ve linked a smilier pair!

If you follow me on Instagram the you know that I recently purchases this beautiful pebbled black Tory Burch bag that is definitely going to be a staple in my wardrobe for a long time!

This adorable sun hat is from none other than Target, but of course I couldn’t make it through an entire post without mentioning Target. (Insert the girl emoji with her hand out to the side).

LOVE this look, Taylor! And what a perfect backdrop. It’s great when you can find items that can be restyled in such cute ways.

Love this look! Chartreuse is my favorite color- I love that it was featured at NYFW in February. So cute! 🙂
