I told y’all florals would be coming soon after pastels 😉 Spring/ Summer are synonymous with stripes, lightweight fabrics, bright colors, prints and my personal fave, boho chic.
I’m completely convinced sometimes that I was born in the wrong era. The 70’s, while most were in a drug induced haze and probably don’t remember most of it, their fashion was on point. I love the effortless ease of everything from the makeup and hair to the whimsical flow of the maxi dresses and midriff baring tops. Ok, clearly I’m not the epitome of boho, I’d say I’m an avid lover of boho style especially when the warmer months roll around. The carefree vibe and comfort that exudes from the laid back bohemian style fits in seamlessly with my personal style.
One thing I like to do when I’m shopping, no matter the season, I like to pick pieces that have dual roles. Dual roles in my closet translates to being able to be worn in multiple styles. i.e. in a preppy look, modern, dressy, grunge, worn casually… you see where I’m going? Take this tunic I’m wearing, if I took off the suede shearing vest, lost the fedora, layered bracelets and booties; traded it all for a pair of wedges and a form fitted blazer the entire look would completely change into something a little more conservative. My personal style tends to not reflect one style complete, I tend to mix things up. Who says that you can’t mix preppy & grunge? Not me. As much as I wish I could stay in one fixed lane, I can’t. Cross pollinating pieces opens up your closet to a whole new world of outfit possibilities.
Some of this spring and summers hottest trends have me anxiously awaiting carefree days and sun-kissed skin! I hope y’all don’t get sick of it because I’m here today proclaiming that I’ll be channeling my inner flower child so be prepared to see floral and flowy frocks frequently on SIEB.
peace & love friends! ☮
