It seems like it was just summer and I was complaining about the heat and humidity and begging for it to cool down so I could layer up. Sometimes layering becomes such a hassle, I know I’m not the only who struggles with the shirt underneath the top layer, it moves, the arms sometimes feel like a straight jacket….the collar doesn’t lay just how you’d imagined it would in your head. It can be a total buzz kill in the mornings. I know the concept of faux layers has been around in the children department but it wasn’t until maybe the last year or so did I start seeing them in my size, I mean maybe they’ve been around my entire life and I’ve just overlooked them. Either way, they’ve found their way into my closet and I couldn’t be happier, the look of layers with the potential headache. THIS one is actually from my shop and I love that it isn’t too heavy. I also love ones I’ve seen like THIS one that has a side slit. I know there are days when you need to layer to stay warm but for me living in the south, especially this past “fall/winter” I use quotes because I feel like you can’t even call it fall/winter, the temps haven’t dropped too terribly much so even though it’s been the season for layers and sweaters MotherNature has strongly disagreed. With faux layers you can get the look and not burn up midday. For the days when it’s cooler in the mornings or it’s raining throw on a light weight jacket like THIS utility jacket which also happens to be from my shop….I feel like when it rains I always have to have a jacket handy especially if I’m going to be in and out of businesses, getting wet and then going into a cool building…literally the worst.
I know everyone and their mom has/wear Chucks and has for like ever but it wasn’t until last year did I come back around to the idea of loving them. I use to wear them back in high school all the time but then grew out of the phase. When I found THIS pair with the elastic back I fell in love. A revamp of a classic. I can slip them on and go and these feel like they have extra cushion in them which makes them way more comfortable then I remember them being.
