Summer is officially here! Deciding whether to splurge or save on your favs? Make sure you at least have my top 5 accessories to help you beat the heat + stay chic all summer long!
The Perfect Hat: I say hat singular because I’m trying to convince myself by convincing y’all that you realistic only need ONE perfect hat, not like 5. If you find the perfect one it will transition and match a variety of outfits.
The backpack: I’m totally all about the backpack trend! I used to rock a backpack purse back when I was in high school, I had a Longchamp & a Prada backpack that were my go-to purses. Why not be hands free + carefree this summer with this sporty chic trend. Buy in a versatile color so you can take it from summer to fall…I’m always thinking about the next season.
Totes: If backpacks aren’t your thing then throw your life in a straw tote and stay resort casual. If you’re worried about not getting your moneys worth out of a bag that you can only carry like 3 months out of the year, the wonderful thing about straw totes, they’re IN every year, seriously they are.
Wedge-Wear: Summer is all about baring it all…in the most modest way of course. Finding the perfect wedges that you can wear to at least half of the million weddings you’re attending, engagement parties and late night dinners can be a battle but once you find them, you’re set! I personally love wedges more than heels (mainly because I can actually walk in wedges verses heels). I think that shoes are one of the things that when you find the perfect pair you buy no matter what, especially if they’re in a versatile color. Splurging on shoes is an investment in my book; you get what you pay for. You don’t want a pair of shoes that’s going to hurt your feet, you can’t walk in or that fall apart after only a few wears….are you really helping yourself by spending $20? Wedges are one of the few summer shoes that if you buy the right pair you can transition them into your fall wardrobe.
Hater Blockers: More commonly know as sunglasses. I couldn’t have a summer must have list without talking about sunglasses. As with just about anything you buy, if you love it and know you’ll wear it for a long period of time i.e. you’re not just buying it because it’s the in thing, I say spend the extra money for a good quality pair. Preference and style are totally a personal decision and I could list a million popular styles but I’m going to keep it simple by saying that if you live on the water or you plan on spending a lot of time on the beach make sure your sunnies are polarized, trust me it’s worth the extra money and it’ll make all the difference in the world when you’re on the water! My go-to glasses are my Raybans. I have 3 pairs that I rotate and wear all the time; the classic aviators, the wayfarers and the club masters.
Whether you want to splurge or save this summer you can find your favs from everywhere from Target to Tory Burch!
