Ok so I so I know this is completely an unpopular opinion but I tried the Tula probiotic skincare line because so many bloggers and friends of mine swear by it. I got a trial pack I used it and thought it was ok but nothing crazy special. I figured I needed to use it for a longer period of time so next came the full sizes to try. Nope. Still not understanding the hype. The Tula cleanser was decent, I would say that it’s comparable to First Aid Beauty’s cleanser, it’s gentle and overall to me just a basic cleanser. I personally don’t care for the scent of Tula, it’s not terrible but it reminds me of something my grandmother would use. The moisturizer did next to nothing for me. I used to say I had oily skin but over the past year it’s changed and is a little more on the dryer side and I thought that because Tula’s was a thicker cream that it would do the trick for me but it left me feeling dry almost all over especially around my mouth, chin and nose. I read a few reviews where others said they had the same issue but I was still shocked because overall everyone raves about how great it hydrated their skin. Usually I would blame the cleanser I was using but it was from Tula. The last thing I tried from the Tula line was the exfoliating treatment mask. I think it’s good but not my favorite. My face felt smooth and clean after using it didn’t wow me like I expecting it to based on all the rave reviews I read. I usually don’t write bad reviews about products and I feel kind of bad doing so because I absolutely love the science behind Tula being a probiotic skincare line, it just unfortunately didn’t work for me and wanted to share incase any of y’all were curious about the line. I definitely recommend getting a starter pack to see how it works with your skin before investing in full size products.
Now that I’ve shared what didn’t work for me I wanted to tell y’all that on a whim I decided to try Soap & Glory’s vitamin C face wash. I know people say to stay away from drugstore skincare because it can be drying and overall too harsh but after trying other prestige skincare brands that just didn’t wow me and I didn’t want to shell out top dollar for mediocre results. I was at Target, saw the Soap & Glory section and figured what the hell, it’s like $13 and it smelled amazing! Y’all, when I tell you this product is so flipping good I’ not lying. It seriously wakes your face up and makes it feel so alive and fresh. It as tiny exfoliating beads in it but they aren’t super rough & harsh and the smell is fresh & minty. I was nervous that it might be over dry my face but it hasn’t yet and I wash my face morning and night. It’s super great a removing any leftover makeup I have on my face after using Micellar water. I’ve also been using a few of Bliss’s skincare products and I’m super loving them as well and they’ve worked amazing with my skin! The Bliss makeup melt jelly works great to take your makeup off before you actually wash it with a cleanser. You put it on your full face of makeup, no need to use water first then rinse off and follow with your cleanser. Depending on which mascara I use, I’ll have to use Micellar water but overall the makeup melt is great. I’m currently using two of their moisturizers, the Drench to Quench cream to water hydrator & the super rich moisturizer. I alternate depending on my mood but they both keep my skin super hydrated without making my face oil throughout the day. I’ve tried one of their masks, the mighty marshmallow & it’s amazing it really brightens your skin!! I’ve only used the Bliss microdermabrasion scrub twice but so far of love how my skin looks and feels about using it, it’s not too rough like some others can be. Overall I highly recommend trying anything from the Bliss line, they sell it at Ulta and Target and also check out Soap and Glory’s line, I’ve only used the S&G’s face wash and their body lotions both are amazing!
I know this was a super long winded/ramble of a post but I just had to share my recent skincare journey I’ve been on and the fact that they’re all budget friendly items! I’d love to hear about any products you’ve been loving recently!
