The LBD

From the dawn of time we (referring to women) have heard from our mothers, our grandmothers, fashion magazines, movies, the entire women population that one thing ever girl needs in her wardrobe is a LBD.  It is THE one piece that will never let you down!

“One is never overdressed or underdressed with a little black dress.” – Karl Lagerfeld

The little black dress ranks up there with that perfect pair of jeans you’ll never part with until they literally fall apart & for me a closet staple is definitely my vest collection.  Jeans, vests & the little black dress are 3 things I can’t part with in my closet.  For this months StyleXStyle series Amanda & I are sharing our current favorite little black dresses we have hanging in our closets.

This is probably the most random shot I’ve ever had taken that I’ve shared, it’s weird but I’m so obsessed with the sleeves on this dress that I love them from every angle!

These sleeves are seriously the bomb.com! I absolutely love the entire fit of this dress, it seriously fits like a glove.  I love the simplicity of a great fit and flare and this dress is just that, yes the sleeves make a statement but not too much. The material isn’t super breathable but I’m ok with that because a. I’m not running a marathon in it, I’m wearing it to an event, date night, dinner with the girls, meeting, basically anything in doors and the fact that it’s a thicker material, b. it’s not shear.  I have a real issue with semi formal dresses that aren’t properly lined from the waist down.  I’m ok if you want shear panels up top and around the neck line but let’s keep it G rated and keep Victoria’s Secret.  And c. I love that it’s lined making it the perfect dress to transition into fall with! I can already seeing myself throwing my cape from last year on over this in a few months!

What’s a LBD without a little leopard, amiright?! There are countless numbers of ways you could accessories this bell sleeved beauty, like I can’t even count the ways there are so many <——-this is the reason why the LBD is so crucial to your wardrobe, it’s versatile.  Add pops of color in your jewelry, shoes or handbags.  Dress it up, keep it casual.  The limit does not exist. (Mean Girls reference 😉 )

Y’all be sure to check out Amanda & Brooke’s LBDs, if you don’t already own a little black dress or if you’ve been in a style rut (we all have those moments where we have creative blocks) I hope one of our 3 looks helps inspire you!
